Writer, journal lover, mum and the woman behind Scribbles of Sanity.

I’d been writing for years, but Scribbles of Sanity really began during one of the hardest seasons of my life.
Three weeks after giving birth to my daughter, I lost my little brother, Joe.
I was grieving while trying to navigate becoming a mum, and writing became somewhere for me to put all the things I didn’t really know what to do with.
I journalled, I wrote letters to Joe. I wrote poems. Sometimes I shared the words because I thought maybe someone else needed to hear them too.
And somewhere along the way, something unexpected happened.
People started saying “me too.”
What had started as somewhere for me to make sense of my own world became a way of helping other people feel a little less alone in theirs.
I never really had a big plan for Scribbles of Sanity. I just kept following the things that felt right.
Writing led me deeper into journaling. Journaling started conversations. Those conversations created connections. And somewhere along the way, something that had started as a way for me to make sense of my own life began creating space for other women too.
Over the years, Scribbles has taken on different shapes, but the bit I keep coming back to is the people.
Women sitting around a table writing together. Proper conversations. Trying things we might not have done on our own, laughing, and even crying sometimes. Making friends and above all remembering who we are outside of all the roles we carry while getting a little bit of that spark back.
That's what Scribbles of Sanity has grown into.

I'm still navigating the messy bits of life, motherhood, work and everything in between. I still need the page. I still lose myself sometimes. And I still have to find my way back.
Scribbles of Sanity isn't about me having all the answers. It's about creating the kind of spaces I know I need too.
